Like night and day compared to the stock pads.
I have been wanting PM brakes but not had the budget.
Tossed on an HD floating rotor up front and these pads front and back.
It's amazing that a pad can make this much difference.

Highly recommended.

I installed the Lyndall pad on my ride 2 months ago. Just like you I am impressed with their stopping ability. I have heard 8 to 10 % quicker but that seems like a rather bold statement to me. What they don't do is dig into and groove your rotors like the stock pads and with a couple of mods there is no brake squeel like you get with the stock pads.

Rhubarb,

You've sold me on trying them. I'm due for another brake job in a month or so...2 questions:

1.) Where is the best place to buy them (and how much)?

2.) Talk to me about this floating rotor...is this an add on thing I can put on my softail & end up with duel rotors up front?

They aren't terribly expensive so I didn't shop around but somewhere that can give you a discount off the Drag Specialties is probably best.  Chicago HD does that.  If I remember right, I paid $50 for each set at the dealer with a 10% hog member discount.

The floating rotor is where the friction disk is riveted to the hub allowing for expansion and preventing warpage.  I honestly don't know why it works better for stopping as it really should just work better under heavy use.  It is a bolt on replacement of the stock rotor and does not give you dual disks.

After those two changes though, I no longer was concerned about dual disks.  It doesn't bite like my Ultra does, but without ABS, there have been a couple times I might have locked the front on it.  These new brembo brakes are great!

Oh, the new pads do make a strange noise... nothing negative, just a bit strange when you get on them hard.  If you have whitewalls, next to no dust as well!

Gosh you just reminded me that I ned to call HogPros.  I stopped over there about a month ago to get pads and they were out.  Promised to call me when they were in but I haven't heard from them   gonna be changing that tire soon.  thought I would change them with it.  Not that I don't have any brake left...just figured it was a good time.

I think you use your brakes too much!  Have you tried dragging your feet to stop?

Another good set of pads are EBC sintered pads, I put them on the RG and they preform MUCH better than stock.

Dang, I just changed out the rears when I did my tire. Well, next time, I need to change the front rotors on the RK. There a little warped and its startin to bug me, gunna go to floating rotors, and will go with after market pads then.
