Called hubby on my way home from work (yes I do use a blue tooth)....I asked him where he was at and he said "I'm trying to get home..." . I'm thinking heavy traffic but noooooo he says he has a boo boo and it's hard to drive blink.gif

Turns out he dropped a 4 x 5 ft mirror on his big toe. I get home a half hour later ...its bled all the way through both sides of his thick work socks and swelling to the size of a small plum. The bleedng is mostly just where the skin was scraped off where it hit. He said he was having a really bad time driving because using the brake hurt.

Doc gave him drugs and put a bit of compression to try and stop the bleeding because it is still bleeding after 6 hours..... X-ray will be in the morning. Mostly to make sure there is nothig they HAVE to fix.

He has my old crutches to get around on.

Doctor was funny. he said, "bet that hurts"..."gonna hurt for at least a week."..."Your really will not want t climb a ladder tomorrow" (Hubby has work tomorrow) ....Oh and the ever popular..."That is really going to turn ugly looking by tomorrow" blink.gif

Right now he is bitching that he wants to go to work while I'm laughing at him woddle to the bathroom...I'm such a nice wife.

Says he definately wants to go to work tomorrow.

And he should go to work tomorrow.  A real man would have used newspaper and duct tape.

Brad, feel better and don't take no crap.  It's supposed to be ugly, its a TOE!!!!

Went to work this morning while Hubby went over to have his x-ray. It was supposed to be a slow work day and actaully started that way.

Update on Hubby....Toe is shattered. He now has percocet in place of vicodin and strict instructions to stay off his foot with a nice boot (walking cast) to immobilize his foot. THis also makes it hard to get home from the doctor.

10 am...So off I go home to drive the Hubby around and take care of getting his meds. Stopped at the grocery store and bought dinner items (turkey, mash potatos, corn, rolls).

In between doing that my daughter came out of her bedroom stooped over. She has been like this for 2 weeks and has been to 2 doctors. I told her that since I was home to make an appointment with my doctor and I would just pay for it. (Good news my doc takes her insurance). Turns out Daughter has a hernia that is "strangled"...took 3 doctors to find that blink.gif (2 PM)

Got sent to hospital (3 PM)...evaluated and prepped for surgery (6 PM)...actually sent to surgery (8 PM)....Done 9:30 PM...Home 10 PM.....

Dinner ended up chips and life water. Hubby has been on his foot all day/night. Time to rest......sigh

Ack!

I'm glad she is going to be all better now.

Tell Brad to use some JB weld on his toe. It will be all better.

Sorry to hear about both of your 'patients". Brad is on his own but make sure to keep plenty of ice on hand for your daughter's wound site.

Been there done that and the ice pack really helps. Should be relatively pain free in 2-3 days.

Take care all in and pace yourself Bev. Don't want to spread yourself too thin and have a flu relapse.

Thanks....Been a really busy day.   I died about mid-afternoon and all the patients including me took a nap.

Well Daughter is up an moving....not running laps and doing jumping jacks, but moving.  She has stopped with most of the pain meds though she is still quite sore.  A couple more days and she will be right as rain.

Hubby was told by doctor today that he could use the boot to walk....finally.  he was going stir crazy. Has to keep the wound really clean...It's still bleeding   Doc says with the type of wound it's expected.  Dog hit it yesterday....I'm pretty sure it made Hubby cry

Me? I'm going to work tomorrow....I right down tired
