Supposed to last 6 hours. Like the idea of not plugging into my bike... got enough of that going on.  Anyone use something like this for cold weather riding?

It comes with the 'black color option'

I had a friend with battery socks once.  They seemed to work.

Not sure though if it can keep up with 80mph cooling.

If I ever went plug-in heated, I think I'd need a break away connector that used magnets.  Like on a macbook.

Decent price compared to Brookstones ($176).....I've never used heated gear since my FXRG jacket is warm enough.    Hubby has a plugin and has never put it on. The real kicker would be the battery life.  I was reading about the Harley versions and they last about 2 hours....depends on your riding if that would be long enough.

I think I'm going to get some heated gloves...probably plugins...this is the first year women's have been offered. (Men's were to big and bulky for me)

My wife uses the Harley heated vest(plug-in) and loves it when it gets cold. She had to learn the trick to plugging in the headset(for stereo and talk) and the heated vest and not have cords all twisted up. The first couple times were rather entertaining.

I was just thinking that it might allow for less layering. Kind of nice that the heat is adjustable and no cords.I'd put it on under my jacket and adjust to the cold. If it really lasts 6 hours might be a nice alternative to lots of layering and plug in vests.

I have the plug-in HD jacket liner and gloves. They work great but you need a thermostat. They get too hot with just the on-off switch--you have to keep turning it on and off. Bev is right, the gloves are way to big and bulky, even for a guy and I never feel like I have good control, but I understand HD has redesigned them.
Don't worry about a magnetic plugin, Rhubarb. I have forgotten to unplug the jacket lead a time or two when I got off the bike and pulled the plugin out with no problem. My plug comes out between the seat and gas tank on the left side. Just make sure you secure it under the seat with a zip tie.
Of course I did not bring them with me on my temporary move to Florida.

Ride safe.

HEATED CLOTHING IN CALIFORNIA.........LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!  You guys crack me up!

Seriously though, you should look into heated grips, I have found them to be more effective than gloves, and they are always with you. Get stuck in a cool rainstorm in the middle of the summer? You won't be carrying the heated gloves but, you can turn on the grips........gotta love 'em.
