Anyone thinking about more demo rides??
The 28th Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach is scheduled for December 5-7, 2008. This is where all the major manufacturers like Harley, Yamaha, BMW, Honda, etc., show off their 2009 models.

You know I missed that last year. Don't remember why.
Maybe I'll drag Hubby down but we'd have to cage it...he still is not ready for riding.but he can go look at the bikes.
I wouldn't mind test riding a sport touring if they have one to try.

I want Noi to try on the TriGlide. I'm starting to see them at the dealerships (a couple of HOG members). One of the guys told me it comes with a 103" engine. Noi still rides the 650 Savage to work. She only rides the Sportster on the weekends. She says I should have gotten her the Trike. She's fallen over at dead stop a few times. I couldn't convince her that the Sportie is more top heavy than the Dyna
The Yamaha V-Max is going to be there. It's suppose to be the fastest production bike (currently). I wanna ride that baby

Actaully she would be way more comfortable on a Deluxe. It's so low and easy to handle. I never liked the sporty...Good bike but not right for me and definately felt top heavy.

Well, I'm out.
A close friend of my father's died over the weekend. He will be out of town at the funeral which means my mom will need help at the store.....I'll be in Tehachapi all weekend.

We managed to go.. They didn't have the TriGlide there but I did get to ride the XR1200.. Man that bike is quick!! It was like riding a Buell, sort of. I actually liked it but don't like the Buells. It sits up high like the Buell but more evenly. The Buell feels like the frontend is lower.. It would pull a wheelie going from first to second (that doesn't happen on the ol' lady's 1200).. It's geared way low, at 3500 rpms I was going 65 on the I-710 in 5th gear. No demo route, just jump on and go wherever you like. I went up the 710 a ways the shot over to Terminal Island and back cruised around downtown L.B. for a while and headed back in.
I went to the V-Star/Yamaha Demo tent and the gal said they were all booked up, I'd have to come back tomorrow. So much for taking a V-Max for a spin. Me, Noi & Crystal (daughter) went over and rode the Spiders. The girls liked that!! It didn't do much for me except seeing them have fun.
Spent the rest of the afternoon inside walking around in the convention center. Noi got to pick up a downed H-D 1200 Low at the H-D Booth. They were demonstrating how to pick up a bike (the right way). That helped build more confidence in her being able to pick up her own should the need arise..
