I'll be working at Trains Etc., which is a model train store, in downtown Tehachapi, CA....Friday Night through Sunday night.  It's right next to Kelsy's diner across from the burnt down train station.

It's a great ride to get there through the windmills.  And if you like trains you can also go to see the famous Tehachapi Loop.

Forgot to mention it's only supposed to be a Brisk 56 degrees....so wear warm clothes

We used to ride out there to the Sonic Burger for a Cherry Lime Aid Slushy.  Vesta got addicted to them in Arizona...lots of them there.  When the week-end gets closer,  lets talk Lunch!

We'll find room for you to stay at Mom's if you come down...I can give you some side riding to keep you busy while we finish up the day...(Store hours 9:30 - 6 pm).   If I know folks are coming I'll make sure I have lunch open.

I can't imagine any snow between you and there.  But then I'm rain, snow, and wind girl this year so don't trust what I say

I'd go but I have a two day safety class to attend.  Possible rain coming this weekend right now. Oh wait, you'll be there; definite rain and snow this weekend!!    Went to Long Beach last year.  Don't want to buy anything and don't want to demo no baggers!!

But you always bring the good weather for the Pacific Crew though!

Still considering.  Will probably be a last second decision based on weather and work.

Google says I can be there in 3.5 hours if I do 100mph the whole way.

Sorry guys...I've been swamped.  Sitting at my parents house now....working

Brad will not be here....he is completing a job at home and anyway has no business standing around on his foot for the weekend.

You have my number Adam...just call or Page if your on the way.  I can give you some side trips for the way in if you want. And we will have a bed waiting if you want it. Long ride for lunch

So I'm putting serious thought into going.  It's more a road trip than a backroads ride.  OK, there are no backroads involved.

I'm thinking of a 7am departure from Concord, arriving in Tehachapi around 12pm for lunch, 2pmish departure home around 7pm.  Maybe stay a bit longer and come home around 9pm... not sure.

2 questions...

  1. Bev, is there somewhere good for lunch?
  2. Anyone up to the challenge of 630+ miles of eating hwy dots like pacman? (I can't be the only one that sometimes just likes to click off a lot of miles on the hwy)

Depends on what you want to eat....there is everything from Mcdonalds to swanky mexican to ostrich burgers...we'll find something
